We strive to promote the game of Chess
in Scott County and Mississippi - providing opportunities for persons of all ages and skill levels to learn and play the game.
This is our story of how we started
and what we're about.
Come join us for our regular meetings,
special events, and major tournaments.
We meet monthly 9-11 a.m.
at the Forest Public Library
It is really easy to join our club,
just show up to a meeting and play.
There are no membership dues.
Our monthly Chess Journal is emailed to active members and other subscribers. Just provide your email address to sign up.
We host two major annual tournaments. The Bienville Chess Classic is set in the spring and the Roosevelt Chess Classic is set in the fall. Both are held at Alfreda-Harris Lodge at Roosevelt State Park
in Morton, Miss.
We are part of a growing family of Chess players in clubs across the Magnolia State. Clubs are forming and events are held throughout the year.
Here are some details about the game - how it works, its history, development,
and how to get involved.
We launched our website in September 2022. It is a work in progress
