This is our story of how we started chess playing and what we're about. Check out our Partners and Sponsors!

It is really easy to join our club and learn chess, just show up to a meeting and play. There are no membership dues.

Come join us for regular chess playing, tournaments and programs, and to learn chess.

We meet monthly 9-11 a.m. on the first Saturday at the Forest Public Library.

Next Meeting: September 6

Our monthly Chess Journal is here and  emailed to active members and other subscribers. Just provide your email address to sign up.

We host three annual tournaments:  Bienville Chess Classic - spring

Roosevelt Chess Classic - fall 

Both are held at Alfreda-Harris Lodge at Roosevelt State Park in Morton, Miss.

We are part of a growing family of Chess players in clubs across the Magnolia State. Clubs are forming for chess playing, opportunities to learn chess, tournament and programs are held throughout the year.

We launched our website in 2022 and it is updated each week.

We celebrate Black History Month in February with a tribute to players of African-American descent who contributed to the growth of chess in the U.S.A. and the  world.  

With respect to our Hispanic brothers and sisters in Scott County, we honor Latin American heritage in Chess and welcome them to our events.
